I had documented these spaces before, as a Crime Scene photographer recording evidence. When revisiting the morgues in 2005 I adopted a different visual style - abandoning the flashguns, the colour film, the dead bodies and focussing on scenes of personal interest rather than relying on the guidance of the pathologist. The photographs are an instinctive re-recording of the familiar. |
